I built this shoe for wandering off the path.

Hi, I'm Ava. I believe getting dressed should feel like the start of an adventure. This first design has been more than a year in the making, sketched in studios, stitched by hand, and tested on the streets of Milan and Vancouver. Every curve, colour, and detail was created for people who aren't interested in blending in. Because life is too short for boring shoes. This is the first release from my collection, and I'm making just 300 pairs. When I design a shoe, I don't just think about how it'll look. I think about the life it'll live. I imagine it wandering down a sun-soaked staircase in Positano. Turning a quiet walk through a lantern-lit alley in Kyoto into something unforgettable. Or dancing across a festival lawn just as the sky turns gold. These shoes were made for adventures – big ones, little ones, and the ones you never planned. Because the best stories usually begin when you wander off the path.

Materials & Craft

Nothing about this was rushed and I mean that literally.

I didn't want to make a shoe that looked beautiful for a season. I wanted to make one you'd still reach for years from now. So I obsessed over every detail. The inside is lined with buttery-soft lamb leather. The outside is durable cowhide. I hand-cut the first upper myself, stitched every rainbow, and kept sending the sole back until it felt exactly right – not just on day one, but after miles of walking. Because beautiful shoes shouldn't be precious.

They should be lived in.

I'm only making 300 pairs, and I chose a small, family-run factory with generations of shoemaking experience because they care about the details as much as I do. My hope is that ten years from now these shoes have wandered through cities you’ve only dreamed about and accompanied you in making your favourite memories.

I've always been fascinated by the things people choose to wear every day – the pieces that make them stand a little taller, smile a little bigger, or feel just a little more like themselves.

Studying at the Arsutoria School in Milan taught me how to build a shoe from the sole up. I spent a year learning traditional shoemaking techniques, hand-cutting patterns, lasting leather, and obsessing over every tiny detail. It completely changed the way I look at footwear.

Now I walk down a street noticing the curve of a building, the colours in a flower market, or the way the afternoon light hits a cobblestone alley, and it inspires me. That's how I design. Not by following trends, but by soaking the moments.

This first shoe carries a little bit of Milan, a little bit of Vancouver, and a whole lot of the adventures that happened in between. I hope it becomes part of yours.
