Privacy Policy

Ava Lougheed ("we," "us," "our") is a sole proprietorship based at 2468 Adanac Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through avalougheed.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have — in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

When you join the email list: your email address.

When you place a presale deposit: your name, email address, and shoe size, along with the deposit amount. Your payment card information is entered directly on Stripe's secure checkout page and is never seen or stored on our servers.

Automatically, as with any website: your IP address, browser type, referrer, and the pages you view — from standard server logs.

Why we collect it

Under PIPEDA and PIPA, we rely on your consent for these purposes. Placing a deposit or joining the list constitutes your consent for us to contact you about your order and the launch. You can withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time; you cannot withdraw consent to messages required to fulfill an order you've already placed.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us run the site:

We don't sell your information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't share it with anyone else unless required by law or valid legal process.

If we ever move our email list to a third-party marketing service (for example, Mailchimp), we'll note the addition here and continue to share only the minimum needed to send the emails you've asked for.

Where your information is stored

Because Stripe and Railway are based in the United States, some of your information will be stored and processed there. That means US law may apply to it and US authorities may, in limited circumstances, be able to access it. By using the site, you acknowledge this.

How long we keep it

We'll delete or anonymize your information sooner on request, where we're not required to keep it.

Cookies

We use only what's technically necessary — a session cookie for the admin login, and cookies set by Stripe on their own checkout page. There are no advertising or analytics trackers on this site.

Marketing emails

If you've joined our list or placed a deposit, we may send you a small number of emails about the launch and future drops, with your consent (as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, or CASL). Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link. Order-related messages — deposit confirmation, shipping updates, refund notifications — are transactional and are sent regardless of your marketing preferences.

Security

All traffic to the site is encrypted with HTTPS. Payments are handled by Stripe under the PCI-DSS standard. Access to our admin dashboard is limited to the site owner. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever experience a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities in accordance with applicable law.

Children

The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, email people affected. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
